Masterclass on music by Mozart and his contemporaries
for pianists and chamber ensembles
by Alexander Puliaev Russia/Germany

In 2004, the Banchetto Musicale early music festival began putting on masterclasses. Last year at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, a renowned singer from Switzerland, Professor Claudine Ansermet, shared her expertise in Renaissance and Baroque music and gave a masterclass on vocal technique and interpretation. Her practice sessions and lectures on attracted a large audience of participants and listeners.

This year, a masterclass on music by Mozart and his contemporaries will be given by an outstanding Russian pianist and harpsichord player, Alexander Puliaev from Germany. The masterclass on music from the end of the 18th to the beginning of the 19th centuries, dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the birth of Mozart, is open to both Lithuanian and foreign students and experienced performers alike and is organised in cooperation with the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.

The participants will have a possibility to get acquainted with an instrument of Mozart’s times, the pianoforte, which will be brought especially for this masterclass from Germany.
