12th–15th C. manuscripts reading and singing workshop closing concert
Marcel Pérès (France) and participants of the singing workshop
In recent years, our festival has dedicated an important role to the domain of musical education, a tradition that we wish to continue. The field of mediaeval vocal music, in terms of both scholarly research as well as living tradition, is one of the main points of interest shown by talented young musicians nowadays in Lithuania as well as abroad. Every workshop session sets a new stage for further study and further reflection, and both prepares and inspires the musicians for the next stage, in which doors are opened to new possibilities in research, practice and experimentation.
After three days of intensive study, practice and research, Marcel Pérès, the director of prestigious Ensemble Organum, together with the participants of the singing workshop, will present the fruits of their work to our audience with a performance in the magnificent Church of Our Lady of the Assumption / Franciscan Church.
Free admission, donations desired for the fresco restoration in the church
